Pengaruh Pemanfaatan Limbah Genteng dan Serbuk Besi Sebagai Subtitusi Agregat Kasar dan Agregat Halus Terhadap Kuat Tekan Beton

Concrete is the most commonly utilized material in the construction sector. Nevertheless, the growing demand for natural aggregates has led to excessive exploitation of natural resources. This study seeks to investigate the effect of incorporating tile waste as a substitute for coarse aggregates and iron powder as a substitute for fine aggregates on the compressive strength of concrete. The use of these two types of waste is expected to provide an environmentally friendly alternative building material while reducing environmental pollution. The research was conducted through laboratory experiments targeting a concrete strength of FC’20 MPa. The mixture variations used consisted of 10%, 11%, and 12% tile waste and 5% iron powder, based on the total aggregate weight. The compressive strength test was conducted at 14 and 28 days of concrete curing using cylindrical specimens with dimensions of 15 cm in diameter and 30 cm in height. The test results show that the combination of tile waste and iron powder as partial substitutes for natural aggregates did not increase the compressive strength of concrete. The average compressive strength values obtained from the variations were still below that of normal concrete with FC’20 MPa quality. This indicates that the use of tile waste and iron powder, under the tested conditions, is not yet optimal for enhancing compressive strength.
