Abstract

This literature review explores the challenges faced by Indonesian learners in constructing English noun phrases (NPs). By synthesizing recent research, the study identifies key grammatical, syntactic, and semantic difficulties that hinder Indonesian students’ proficiency in this area of English language acquisition. Factors such as the influence of Indonesian language structures, first language (L1) interference, and pedagogical approaches are thoroughly examined. The review concludes with practical recommendations for educators to improve instructional strategies, offering valuable insights for enhancing English language teaching and learning outcomes in the Indonesian context.
