Abstract

Literary works as a portrait of people’s lives can be enjoyed, understood, and utilized by the community. One of the literary works that is made into a story in the form of a book is a novel. A novel is a literary work in the form of a composition, either a fictional (imaginary) composition or a non-fictional (real) composition that is poured out by the author through ink strokes according to the author’s own circumstances or other people. Therefore, the researcher wants to know the important role of novels in human life. The formulation of the problem in this study reads: how is the Study of Feminism in the Novel Scars & Other Beautiful Things by Winna Efendi (education, religion and social in the family and community environment). The purpose of this study is to reveal how the Study of Feminism in the Novel Scars & Other Beautiful Things by Winna Efendi (education, religion and social in the family and community environment). The method used in studying the research in this thesis is a descriptive method in qualitative form using a literary criticism and feminist approach. The data collection technique used in this study is a library study. The results of the study concluded that “Scars and Other Beautiful Things” is a very important novel to read, especially for those who want to understand more deeply about the impact of sexual violence on victims. The author’s suggestions for this study are: 1) For readers, it is expected to be able to dig deeper into the Study of Feminism in the Novel Scars and Other Beautiful Things by Winna Efendi. 2) For Literature Teaching, it is expected to be able to analyze the Study of Feminism using theories from other experts on the Novel Scars and Other Beautiful Things by Winna Efendi. 3) For other studies, it is expected to find more data on other Novels related to the Study of Feminism.
