Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ perceptions of the development of a learning model for basic volleyball serving techniques through a game approach in the Physical Education (PJOK) subject at SMP Negeri 5, Bengkulu City. The background of this study is based on the need for learning innovations that can improve students’ understanding, motivation, and skills in volleyball. The method used was descriptive quantitative, with a questionnaire instrument covering three aspects of student perception: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. Data were obtained from 30 students and analyzed using percentage techniques and Likert scale score conversion. The results showed that students’ perceptions of this learning model were very positive, with an average score of 3.34. The game approach has been proven to create a fun learning atmosphere, increase student engagement, and facilitate mastery of basic volleyball serving techniques. Thus, the game-based learning model can be an effective alternative in PJOK teaching in schools.
